Since 2006 Allison Cordner has been redefining how portraiture is seen and experienced in Quebec. Her philosophy of elevating portraits as art in the home; ‘Forever statement pieces’ that are meant to be kept for generations is her mission.
Allison’s strengths are working and relating to children and adults of all ages and dispositions and quickly. Not a single subject has been able to keep their guard up while exposed to Allison's seamless, jovial, energetic and accommodating attitude. Notably photographing the ‘un-photographable’ is a challenge she loves.
Allison’s unique ability to document and freeze in time the innocence, purity and emotion between family members is a signature skill. The simplistic essence of childhood with all of its quirks and authenticity is the story she would like to tell for you.
With advanced degrees and training in fine arts, photography, counselling and business, Allison has worked with the likes offormer prime ministers Tony Blair & Jean Chretien, the late Jack Layton, the late Christopher Jackson who’s iconic portrait made headlines across the classical music and media streams with his passing, the late conductor and chair of Mcgill Music program, Eleanor Stubley, worked with olympic athletes, artists, musicians, actors, doctors, lawyers and every trade under the sun. Her work has received awards, has been published locally & internationally and proudly hangs in prestigious homes across the globe.
About Connected Sessions: Therapeutic Photography
I work with couples & families to invite intimacy and vulnerable connection. I also offer milestone, year long baby sessions and specialize in branding businesses and people. I work in the Montreal, Quebec & surrounding areas. I do also travel periodically to Vancouver & Toronto. Email me to know my next visit to your area or to arrange one.
For families and children the focus is in keeping sessions fun and playful. I do not force any child or individual to do anything they are uncomfortable or unwilling to do.
For couples, the sessions are therapeutic in nature, meaning I will be using different experiential invites (games, questions, exercises) to stimulate feelings of closeness, emotion and joy with each other. This type of sacred session is also open to singles looking to reconnect to themselves and their worthiness. Gentle tears are welcome and common during our session together. I do guide you through poses and expression in order to direct beautiful imagery as well, never leaving you hanging.
Information and conversations shared and witnessed in our sessions together are kept confidential. 'Connected' Sessions are appropriate for couples in all stages of their journey together and are meant to be expressive, guided and impactful.
Generally sessions are 1 hour long and done outdoors at quiet and beautiful locations near nature. In winter indoor session are arranged. All sessions are billed hourly, products are extra. Session fee is due in advance to reserve your appointments.
